Post Beavertail question
Hello,

I have a 27hp Beavertail longtail. Is there supposed to be a nylon (or something) bushing between the transom mounting bracket and the motor mounting surface where the motor swivels left to right? My motor does not have one and at low idle the two plates rattle pretty bad at the pivot point.

THANKS for any and all comments,
David

David,

I have the same lt, I don't think there is a bushing. I'm at work now going from memory. But there is the pivot bolt that you can tighten a little and see if that helps.

maybe try putting one like they have on the go devils. its a round flat piece of uhmv (maybe uhmw not sure), with a hole in the middle and tighten that bolt just tight enough to where it doesnt make it hard to turn.

Thanks for the replies.....I do load it up with grease every time I take it out. After looking at it a little closer yesterday, I believe the rattle is coming from the top motor mount plate rattling back and forth on the pivot bolt. Im wondering if there is a missing bushing or bearing or something? The pivot hole is larger than the pivot bolt. Its a 2009 motor, so I dont think it is worn.

THANKS,
David
