My new Phowler 2066 arrived earlier this month. It is a replacement for one that was totaled in a collision just 45 minutes from Phowler’s shop on September 17th , which was a replacement for my 26 year old Lowe 1848.

Color: Plain Phowler Green, boat and motor
Length: 21’ 1” Overall hull length with pointed bow added.
Width: 66” at floor, 88” at widest point of gunwales.
Power: Pro Drive 36 with Power Reverse, Power Trim, EVT level 1 mod kit added.

Options: Full Foam Floatation, 21” side height, Pointed Bow, Removable Gun box with three different positions, 2 removable side boxes with three different positions, LED navigation lights from CP Performance, battery moved to bow, gas tank moved to bow, dual rigging tubes, full Hydroturf, wiring for two bilge pumps, double spud pole holes, spud poles, bow and stern handles, driver’s stand up bar, battery bracket, fuel tank bracket, full floor tight to the sides, bottom runners deleted. (Some of these items are included in the Extreme package)

Stuff I added: under gunwale led strip lighting by xtremeled.com, 2000 GPH Rule Mate Automatic bilge pump.

Trailer: FloatOn 321AT, all aluminum, torsion axle, tilting air boat trailer with all led lighting, spare tire and hub assembly mount and extra clearance lights.

Review: I could not be more pleased with the performance of the boat. It’s no speedster, but that is what I expected. When the Mikuni is having a good day, the rig has amazing power. The boat has very little bow rise, so it is very quick on plane. I believe this is also a function of the fact that even with a very heavy load; the boat only has about 4” of draft. It is built like a tank. It has absolutely no flex, and enough weight to keep it from beating in a short chop.
I know this is no big deal to you guys, but I was amazed at the fact that the boat (especially one this big) could maneuver in nothing but wet mud! My decoys were sitting on their keels, and I could ride right past them! I expected the boat to do well in shallow water, I had no idea it would work in less water than it takes to float a decoy.
I wish I had purchased a boat like this years ago!

That was really sad about losing the first one - I lost one of my favorite
boats on Halloween night - the day before our duck season opens to a dang
drunk driver - so I kinda know your pain....

That lil 2 hp sure looks small back there - definitely would like to see more
pics of the hull in the water - that is one big girl...

Phowler sure seems to make a safe and sturdy hull....

Sorry to hear about your rig!

Believe it or not, that little 2hp got me through the last five trips of last year. The ethanol got the best of my old Mercury's carb and I could not do without the boat while it was being repaired. Now I just carry it as a backup. It isn't fast, but it will eventually get you home when you need it.

Sorry, I don't have approximate weights, but loaded with 18 Goose decoys (wood and hard foam), 26 duck decoys (wood and cork), 3 mojos, 2 mallard machines, four hunters (2 under 12yrs old) and gear, dog, extra group 27 battery, safety equipment, two anchors, and 6 gallons of gas, the GPS read 16mph in the deep and a touch over 18mph in the skinny water.

I don't have any empty speeds yet, as I have either been brushing/repairing blinds or hunting since the boat was delivered.

Congratulations. Fine looking boat. I like the name you gave it. Sounds appropriate.

You need some more coolers jk, good looking boat, looks just like mine except bigger.

Don't worry, there are seven more around the corner...the ones in the photo are just the little ones! If you hunt and fish, you can never have enough coolers.

Nice rig. I've got a Phowler and pd 36 and love my rig too. We both have large rigs that get it done albeit not as fast as some. Mine is 48" wide so duals are outta the question but you have plenty of room. If I was you, I would put my nose to the grindstone and save like a madman for that 2nd motor with tiller setup. Speed would be better but most of all you could run a decent speed with a HUGE load.
