 Trim/transom angle question
Hello,
I just installed my new motor, a 35 MB on my tracker. I will be buying a new hull as soon as finances permit. In the meantime, I just need to get through this duck season.
My question is- With the manual trim turned in all the way, it seems as though the motor is still trimmed down too low. I think the problem is the transom angle on my boat. I will put a picture up once I get home today.
Can I just shim the bottom of the motor plate with a 1/8"x2" piece of flat stock or do I need something that is wedge shaped to allow the motor plate to make full contact with the transom? (strength?)
There is a washer and spring on the threaded trim rod- could I just remove the spring for now? That would give me 1.5" of extra adjustment and should be plenty. Right now the spring is fully compressed and it seems like it is still trimmed to low.
Thanks for any help. I need to use the boat to smack the quack. They all left my local area after this murder scene! (pic attached)

 Re: Trim/transom angle question
You could actually shim it with a 2x6 (wood) just for a temp fix. Get you an angle finder.
When someone accidently puts a GT on a boat that I built, I usually have between a 19-20 Degree transom. 16" height for short 20" for Long
Hope this helps

 Re: Trim/transom angle question
im trying to remember, not sure about all the mb's, but you may have a bolt that will allow you to adjust the angle for two or three different transoms. also there may (depending on the model) a latch for low running on the motor, my mini has both the adjustment and the low running latch. on the latch its spring loaded and when in the low run possition takes the trim out of the way altogether. only other would be do you have a long motor on a short boat?
just went to the site- the mini's and the hunter are the only ones with manuel trim, i think. the hunter i cant see real well but it doesnt look like it has the adjustable transom bracket. the 35 mini hd has trim and i didnt look to see if there is a regular mini 35?
