Post Sea rim mud hunt (hunt pics added)
Finally was able to see what these mud motors were made of this weekend for the opener on the 2nd split. This is what happens when you get a low tide at 5 am, and NW wind at 25-30 mph. The only time we had to push was when had to push over rollers!! Felt bad for the other hunters that got stranded out there in outboards! :D :D We had 4 ppl (800 lbs), 3 decoy bags, 2 gas tanks, guns and other gear.. so probably pushing 1000lbs!!

its off the intercoastal canal, i guess it used to be some kind of barrier that over time has just washed away. Its right infront of the rollers we needed to cross to get to the next body of water. Your guess is just as good as mine lol

i dont think ill be using them rollers again! If i didnt have 4 ppl i dont know if we couldve gotten my tank up the rollers... dont realize how heavy that SOB was lol... it took us just as long to get there as it would be if we launched from juniors!

the he!! with rollers when you are a running a mud boat...those boats are too damn heavy. If you cant make it over by hitting them WOT then I aint hunting that spot. I think it would be alot easier to just launch at Juniors next time.

the only reason i didnt launch at juniors was because of that heavy northwind going across that lake like that. at least in the intercoastal it was a little smoother! It was my buddies idea on the rollers cuz he said they arent that bad.. (bull sh*tttt).. ive got a big enough boat to run that open lake and hit the back side of horse shoe trail next time where it actually opens up.

Those rollers on the intracoastal are a b!tch...the ones in the big hill unit you can hit at WOT and if you can drive well you can just about make it all the way over without pushing. I on the othere hand usually hit them and slide off the side at the top and end of having to push anyways.

We didn't do too good, I had to be in Bmt by 10:30, so we had to really turn & burn. Flat we went to only had about 9" of water when we got there, & almost none by 8:00. Could see every step we or the dog had taken & there was an obvious trail in the mud all around us & the dekes. we managed to knock down 6, but had to bail out earlier than we wanted.

BTW, good meetin you too.

I let my buddies take my boat out there this weekend when that real bad northern came through and this is two of the pics they took... they thanked me up and down for my boat being a "life saver" lol 8-) .... they said they in some spots they had no choice but to run over straight mud flats out there to get out!! But you can see tide went out a good couple of feet!! :o
