The good: Reverse,like it.The construction of the motor,no mild steel,has a dry ride & turns almost as good as my old round chime. Speed is around 25 mph with two men 190# a peice, pop-up blind, 9 gals. of gas, bag of decoys & hunting gear & the boat is very staible. The bad: Alot of paint is peeling off the floor & some off the motor, gt said they will fix it. The worst is how load the motor is, it sounds like a loud fan over 3000 rpms & you can't hear the exhust, maybe coming from belt or trans. gt checked it out & said it's normal.I like this rig except for the motor noise & wearing ear plugs.

you have any pictures? and is this loud motor syndrome signature to all gtrs? ( obviously pointed to gtr owners)

I don't have to wear ear plugs... It's really not that loud, I listen to my stereo too while I run & I know I'm not the only one that does that.

It's the prop breaking the surface that you hear, it's not that loud.

This is not my first sd & it is alot louder that my old sd & other sd I drove & rode in, it is a 2011 model with the new belt which might why?

I have ran the trim in all kind of positions and not much change, but if you run the motor in gear out of the water wide open it sounds nomal, no fan noise just normal exhust.It is only when there is a load on the motor 3000rpms & above.

Mine is no louder then the other brands I have owned

They all sound the same....has nothing to do with the belt. The noise from the air intake can be somewhat noisy to some...try spinning the air filter cover around...that may quiet it down some....

My boat is at gt right now getting the floor re-painted & they are putting a electric fuel pump do to the motor killing after about 5 min. of running ever time I when out. Talked to Tyler at gt & he said some of the gt motors are louder than other gt motors & ran my motor & said it was fine,but I will it again this motor is loud! & if any one wants to keep telling it's not call me & we can go take a ride.
