Any other Rev Limiters out there
Wondering if any other rev limiters are out there for our application. Besides the ones from EVT GT MB or PD. All are the same. Has anyone used anything else??

Your engine comes from the factory with one.

if u have a PD, u can re-position de roll pin on the collar that is on the end of the handle shaft / throttle. drill a new hole, get it close, then fine tune it by bending w/ some pliers.

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
Searched and searched for rev limiters , before EVT or BPS was in the mix. Actually found the one they are using, just didn't realize it was the right one, until later. Unless we missed one, thats it. Even talked with several of the manufacturers that make/engineer the motorcycle and auto racing limiters......even talked with a couple in the UK.....nothing within a reasonable price for sure.

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
maybe not reasonable price, but what about the Dyna DRL 400. I talked with the factory and they believe it would work just fine. Only the low rev limit setting would be used in my application. I am now waiting on my third rev limiter and could have bought this one no doubt. Oh why am I on my third rev limiter, cause EVT mounted it on the engine and wouldn't stand behind it. That was when my first rev limiter went out with 15 hours on it. Second one I believe was water related.

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
When mine went out I got a new one from EVT. The I decided to take the old one apart and the red wire had broke from the solder. Hadn't put it back but will if the other one goes out. Good chance that the only problem. Open up your old ones. Probably something simple.

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
Mine was mounted to the motor also. Didn't last but 30 hours. Its mounted inside the boat under the cap that connects the transom and the sides, we will see how long it last this time.

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
I have my rev limiter UNDER the back corner on the hull. The little cross piece that all boats have for bracing. Will not get rained on, and if I had back wash it would stay dry as well. Couple of self tapping screws and some heavy black zip ties and it is secure. (the white ones will dry rot)

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
Well the new one came in. Went to radio shack and got a separate little box to fit into. Mounted that little box inside one of my storage compartments. Installed rev limited and wrapped that sum b.... in bubble wrap. It better be able to take shock waves and every thing else now. Ran it yesterday. Running like a champ.
Left boat with Andy to get some speaker brackets made. Will be jammin at the Caddo ride.

Re: Any other Rev Limiters out there
Just got mine back from EVT. Did a few things to my motor and one thing Robert did was move my rev limiter off the engine and mounted it under the back corner of the hull as stated above.
