Post toyota help
seems to be a well rounded crew here a MMT. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if 2004 3.4 v6 toyota eng. would fit in a 1994 with a 22re eng. without alot of fab work. I know all the old models 20 22r 22re all bolt the same mount. Hopefully you could just change the mount from 4 cyl. to a 6 cyl. and swap eng. Thanks for the help it is a mud motor just the wheeled type

If you had a factory 3.0 V6 it will be a direct bolt in to stock motor mounts and stock transmission. To swap it into a 22re equipped truck you need to get motor mounts to match the 3.4L motor, a R150F transmission with matching tcase or a tcase adpater; or I THINK you can get a Turbo 4cyl R151f tranny form a stock 22RTE that had a turbo on it, and just swap the bellhousing form a R150F. Then you need to address the oil pan issues. You will need the oil pan, pickup tube, and baffle tray from a 3.0 V6 anyway.
Once you get the motor in place your headache will just begin. You have to have a complete Engine Wiring Harness and the matching ECU for the same year motor. The 3.4L is a 5VZ-FE toyota engine code. Once you have that you now need to cut and splice certain wires to have yor BODY harness to porperly read what the engine is doing so the bothe them can be Happy. Also you have to have know how many O2 sensors were on the truck the motor comes out of so you can have that same amount of O2 sensors added into your exhaust so the engine is running in the correct loop. (basically so its not running too rich or too lean).
If you have an auto transmission its is more of a pain in the ass to get everything working correctly. I can go on for days about this swap but here is a website that will give you alot of information. They are out of business but elected to keep the site up for guys who will still do that swap.

Any more questions I can try to find you an answer.

I put tbi 5.7 in a 1980 sr5. But that was all modified didnt really matter about bolting right up. With the 2004 there are more issues with the ecm. Another thing is the transfercase is on the oppisite side of the 94. Told him if he really wants a v6 to get a 4.3 buy an adapter and keep trans.

yea, i wouldn't buy that blue yota... i talked to the guy through emails around Mardi Gras when i met up with him on the highway. i don't think he knows what he's talkin about... he said it has a 2.8... which doesn't exist. could've been a typo...

said he has the engine cammed and a header on it... when i met up with him, sounded like it was runnin straight off the header... gross, especially a 4 cyl. and no back pressure, i'm sure, did the 2.7 some good...

and it has a lockright locker up front? do they make those lockers for wagoneer axels? cause he told me that's the axle it has up front... i thought those lockers were for yota axels only?

didn't you tell me he rolled that truck twice, too?
i'd take the money your padna's gonna buy that truck for and dump it into his jeep IMO

i've been knowin about this truck for quite awhile... why you think i didn't buy it?? lol

Matt they make lockrites for just about every axle. It is just a Dana 44 diff with narrower tubes than a full width. All d44 carriers are the same from now until the begining basically. But that guy has no clue LOL Robert told me it had a v6 in it and it has "hopped up". That means the guy ha NO CLUE wtf he is talking about if he cannots list the mods that were done to the engine.

he knows its been rolled, but its gonna be straight trail rig, no street seen. Shit i ran my blaze with straight exhaust for 20k miles and its still runnin strong. but I'm going look at it this weekend, its needs work but guy will take 2k this weekend for it. so for 2k a sas yota that needs work is still better than most deals your finding out there for a wheeling truck. plus the cost of just buying a stock yota and do get a front axle under it cost damn close to what hes paying. so IMO good place to start. And IMo is better than a old k5 or c10 that you have to go threw the motor then mess with all the other shit just to get it to run RIGHT then you still have 10 bolts ungeared and lock lol. He knows hes not buying a ready to go rig. and prices I've been seening on used trail rigs. aint too too bad
