 Bee skeet
Hey got a new shooting sport for the off season. I live in a log home and have a couple of overhangs where the wood bee/carpenter bee has been busy with his carpenter skills. They are just out of range for my electronic fly swatter so I got the 22 rifle out with bird shot and nailed several yesterday. I even stretched a few shots. Today the kids were picking them up for me. The 22 bird shot shells are about 5 bucks for 20 but well worth it for the damage being done and off season wing shooting. Randy

 Re: Bee skeet
I used to live in a kit log cabin and man those bees were hell. We never shot them with rat shot, but we used a lacrosse stick to beat the crap out of them.
We had a screened in porch and we used to shoot through the screen to nail birds and skwerls in the snow. Put out a little birdseed and then set the dead birds up as decoys. Maybe a beer was opened....

 Re: Bee skeet
I used to kill them with one of those fat red plastic baseball bats. They would make a pretty good pop when you connected. Little boy got older and bat got broke. Now I sick him on the bees with his BB gun.
The other impressive thing about them is how far they will drill into a rafter. I have seen some holes over 4' long/deep.

we have them at my mom and dad's house. buddy of mines dad worked for louisiana as a biologist. he got me some type of pesticide and i tell you that stuff worked for like 2yrs. i have to redo it again this year. im going to find out the name for you guys. we use to shoot them with the bb guns with no bb in it and just the air. thats great stuff there, hit a few with the pressure washer a time or two also.

 Re: Bee skeet
randy you want a pyrethroid insecticide like ripcord {ai:cypermethrin} made by BASF. i have also had good luck with pounce {ai:permethrin}, it is not as good on bees, but still workes, and will kill house flys for a couple years if not washed off. poured a bunch on kellys head wile killing a bee nest at the pond, and he still seems ok.......it is the reason only dead house flys at my farm, i could hook you up this fall, but it is not that expensive, if you know a farmer. db

 Re: Bee skeet
my dad told me that when he was young his bother was nuts, he use to take 1/4 sticks of dynamite and shove em up the cats asses and light 'em and watch the carnage.

 Re: Bee skeet
We raised quail to train our bird dogs. My job was to protect the quail from all enemies foreign and domestic. I had a hav-a-hart next to the funnel on all the recall pens and johnny houses. I would say "if I had a nickel for every" but Grandpa gave me a quarter for each vermin. We used to play baby possum golf. Piece of galvanized pipe will send a baby possum a looooong way.
Or if you catch two old tomcats, tie their tails together and throw em over a clothesline. You talk about a fight. oh lawd.

 Re: Bee skeet
Yep, yep, some of you are as twisted as my cousin, he once buried two cats with just their heads showing. Then with the use of a lawn mower he removed the head of one while the other watched. I never asked what happened to the other cat.
