Posting this for a friend. He has a 2008 23gd longtail and the upper bearing on the shaft is out. He is having trouble removing that locking collar located behind the ujoint. He said he has the set screw out and it still wont come off. Any help on how to remove this is appreciated.

im about to change mine out on my mud buddy. it has the exact same setup. I've read guys removing the engine and pounding the shaft out with a hammer if its that stubborn. just make sure that little space of drive shaft is really clean of rust and grit or it will have a hard time passing through the bearing. they say to sand all the shit off it before trying to pass it through.

This tool borrowed from auto parts store might be the answer, You would first need to remove the universal joint from the yoke.
