 evt vs bps
Does anyone know if the evt and the bps mikuni carb kits are identical. The bps are about 100 cheaper.

 Re: evt vs bps
I have ran both de BPS & EVT set ups, I found dat de EVT set up had better throttle response / power gains. If ur thinkin' bout future mods go wit de EVT, u won't regret it!

 Re: evt vs bps
Not trying to sound like an a** hole but dyno numbers are like measuring your ____. Its not peak numbers that matter it is the usable power under the curve. Real world speed and load carrying ability is what proves this.

 Re: evt vs bps
Yep, and "Real World" numbers have to be compared in "real world" tests.
Not opinions.
Just like real dyno pulls with real hp numbers and torque curves are useless.
WTF?

 Re: evt vs bps
I'll let y'all know after this weekend how a BPS mikuni kit does on a 36PD. Everything else is stock so any gains will only be due to the carb.

 Re: evt vs bps
Is the only real difference the intake? If it's that big of a deal, can somone with the BPS kit just buy the EVT intake later or will it not mate up?

 Re: evt vs bps
Admit it most of ya don't like hte BPS stuff because of the MB connection, has nothing to do with better performance just who's building it ...............As far as real world running, what runs good to one guy might feel like a piece a Sh!t to another, dyno numbers are your only good gauge unless your pulling motors and try'n them on the same rig...............I believe the dyno number that Mudd is talking about was done from the crank..........

 Re: evt vs bps
I ran both on a stock 35 gd 20x60 custom. the bps started easier and had better hole shot. Unless you are going inside for cam and pistons stay with bps. I did not run the bps once I did cam and pistons ( It ran on two hours before the evt cam gave out) I got it back together just as the season started but ran the evt . My guess is if you cleaned up the stock unit with bps unit you won't notice any difference until you get real extreme. If you want bottom end stay with stock cam and bps carb kit clean up the heads.Hoyt gets real good performance with stock carb and intake with head work and a modest cam.

 Re: evt vs bps
I thought I read in one of your earlier posts that EVT did not warranty the cam issue or other parts damaged because of the failure. Whats' the story there? I would assume it is because they did not install it. This issue would be my main concern. Everyone can get a lemon regardless if it's the dealer or manufacturer's fault. What really matters is how they handle problems after the sale.
