 thoughts on this boat?
http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/specs.cfm?boat=3142i have the chance to get this boat, nearly new, for an awesome price. how do you think it would run with a 8-10 hp longtail and 450 lbs of people and gear? will it be safe? i have never run a boat this narrow, so im not sure how stable it would be, but i see the go devil skiffs are the same 36 bottom, so it cant be all bad. is 450 lbs of weight, not including the motor, too much? what do you think of it? i wont be running any rocky, stumpy, or loggy water, so the thin hull is not a problem, there arent even any loggy or rocky waters around here if i wanted to...so what do you think of it?

 Re: thoughts on this boat?
Well you figure 2 people and light gear 450 lbs sounds about right. I think it'll be fine for light duty stuff. as for as speeds I'm thinking some where between 12 and 15 mph.
Good luck with it!

 Re: thoughts on this boat?
I run a 14x36 jon and it is 55" wide at the widest point. I have a 13hp go devil. I haven't checked speeds but I hunt where ever I want to and it is light enough to hunt with and use by yourself. I usually hunt 2 out of mine with 2 dozen decoys, guns, ammo, and all of the coat guard stuff without any problems.
