Anyone add a clutch to the older style MB Hyper? It's an '06. Got any parts for the conversion? Clutch cover etc?

Yes the clutch can be added to it. The clutch kit comes with the electric clutch & new top gear & it costs ~$300. You'll also need to get a resettable fuse for the clutch. MB has em for ~$20 each, or you can get a cheap one from the auto parts store for about $4 & replace it several times a year. I'm willing to bet money that Boat Dr will have it all in stock & even walk you thru the install if needed.
Post up a pic of the belt housing on your motor. I'm pretty sure it already has the correct housing for the clutch. It should "bubble out" at the top.

Boat Dr advised that the motor will be an 03-05 at the newest 05. support bracket goes to top of belt housing and it appears to be same size from top to to bottom. Boat Dr does have the parts on hand. He said something about having to mill something out too. Not sure if he meant the inside of the housing or as another post showed just the clutch itself

Just looked through his makeover post & saw the motor. Looks just like my 06 model did. Already has the right belt housing for the clutch.

FTR, not sayin Andy was wrong, just sayin it looks the same from the pics.

Here's the pic I was goin off of... Sounds like there's more than one motor in the equation or something. This pic looks like a tall transom Sport model (power trim, football on the end of handle), if he wasn't referring to this motor, then I apologize for the confusion.

I hear ya buddy. Walmart feet? Thats what we used to call it when you are barefooted and the bottoms of your feet are all black. It was more of an ill placed joke i guess, well that and i do love some walmart. Figured we could work this whole signature issue out and i could get some shopping done too. Andy definitely knew what i was up against as far as what all needs to be done. If everything on the motor holds up and i can do stuff slowly it shouldnt be too bad, or at least shouldnt cause a divorce.

The motor sammyc just got has hyper 4000 on the front cover. What exactly is a 4000. Is it anything more than a mikuni and duals?

Nope that's it, although some have aftermarket heads also (4000pf or 4000im). On the MB site there's a breakdown of what has what.

Holy Crap..... That MB hauls a$$. 32 alone and 27-28 w three men in boat all 200lb plus. Oh yea and it didn't kick out of the water not once.
