Post German Wirehair
Here recently my wirehair has been a pain in the azz. last week he unraveled the chainlink twice and once climbed the 6ft high pen. now this week since he cant get out all he wants to do is bark. wasnt like this until recently, and he barks right thru the shock on the bark collar. and i ran the piss out of him this morning and when he went back in the pen all he did was bark. any suggestions or advice besides a bullet :D

He's bored or needs attention, he's like a kid that misbehaves to get mom/dads attention. Give him something to occupy him. My DD will toss a piece of rope or a bumper up in the air for hours.

I've got the same problem, i have a German Shorthaired. got him neutered and he doesnt run away anymore, but the barking with these dogs is insane. If i walk out of the house he starts. They just need a ton of attention and you have to figure, youre these dogs bestfriend, just bring him along. Mine rides with me everywhere, i keep a set of spare keys on me so i can leave the truck running, lock it and let him hangout.

He's got him a peice of trim close by..... I had a GSP that was fenced in an acre of high fence and somehow he would get out every now and then. I'd pick him up 3 or 4 miles from the house sometimes. he would always come back though. Finally he met his match and met a truck on I-10. I still miss that dog, had I fixed him he'd still be here today. Like others have said take him everywhere, mine used to ride in the back of the truck everywhere, he was truck trained though, I could go run errands or do something and he'd stay in the bed of the truck.
