Re: Uncle j boat. Any info?
I get about the same as dozrya. I have an 1848 with a 36 pd. J is going to stand behind his work. That's doesn't mean "I got drunk and ran into rock jetty. Depending on what you hunt I would suggest an 18 54. I think most people will agree with me on that one. If you are looking for a skiff talk to Jacob(ten point) he is one of j's welders and a skiff guru. He also claims he can weld a dick on a snowman.

Re: Uncle j boat. Any info?
Thanks for the help. I'm looking at gettin a 17 50 or 17 52 with a huntdeck and open floor. I mainly duck hunt and some bowfishing just thought about the 52 for bowfishing but I don't wanna lose much speed. Sounds like I need to get the money and give him a call!!!

How do these boats take a beating? I hit several stumps and things like that.

Re: Uncle j boat. Any info?
I jump levees, run into trees & ddb's boat, only thing to break so far is the grab bar, but that was when I slammed into the tree head on after hitting ddb's boat. Duck season's almost here, if you'll give me until then, I'll tell you what all will break. I aint scared to tear some shit up. Forgot to mention, had mine for about 6 months now.

Re: Uncle j boat. Any info?
i run in some places like in your picture its not an every trip deal but i wanna know the boat will hold up when i ramp a tree sticking out of the water in the dark! Most of the places i go arent that bad mainly because i dont find a lot of ducks around those logs. I do go on a rocky river every now and then and im just curious about how these boats hold up. I havent rode in one and dont know a lot about them all ive heard is good waiting for a complaint somewhere just wanna make sure this is the boat i want before i spend the money then make a 10 hour trip down there to get it.

Re: Uncle j boat. Any info?
If you run stuff like that on a regular basis, I'd go with a 3/16 bottom. You can still tear that up, but not as fast.

Re: Uncle j boat. Any info?
I've got an 18x58 Uncle J with 3/16ths bottom, with a 4500 Black Death Mudbuddy. Empty speeds I get between 28-29.5 depending on water conditions. Last weekend, I had 3 people, an icechest full of adult beverages, and all the stuff for an overnight stay at the camp and I was running 25.5 all deep water.
