 Do you carry a gun on your fishing boat? Seems that in Florida, they have boatjackers now and the debate is on whether or not you can protect yourself and your boat. I've never had a word said to me in 50 years about either the rifle or the .357 I carry all the time. What say you?

I'm in florida tampa area , I spend ALOT of time in the bay at night snook and red fishin , I"m not so worried about a boat jacker my 357 will take care of that but I like to use what we call the outlaw ramps because they make us pay at every fuckin ramp as of last year , and there some shady lookin people that hang around the ramp on the weekends , we don't have alot of mudmotors where I'm at so when people see it there like hey dude whats up wit the funny lookin motor , It's a boat motor and don't walk up next to me and look at it , look at it from over there it for your Own safty. I don't wantas sound to much like a prick but at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning these folks are up to no good.

Do you carry a gun on your fishing boat? I carry in the boat. State land is open for carry permits ( in TN) I would rather get a ticket for having it than to get back to the truck and find it's gone. have a friend Mr Green Jeans and he said I would be fine. Check local laws.

Re: Do you carry a gun on your fishing boat? Stainless GP-100 Ruger in the GTrax or Blazer. Hope I never have to use it. A 2 or 3 ft gaff will put someone that is unarmed outta your boat too. The 357 keeps you from having to get that close.
