 Re: Hard to turn right?
The problem is it is a 35 lt.
The torque of the motor and prop and whatnot does that.

 Re: Hard to turn right?
Turning the one way the prop is acting as a wheel and helping you turn it that direction. Turning the opposite direction the prop is still acting like a wheel trying to go one way, your just opting to turn it the other direction, so kind of like pushing your truck forward when it is running in reverse. I bet if you back off the throttle for just a second while you try to turn it, it will be easier to turn, then get back on it immediately after you turn the motor and it may require less muscle. I have no experience with mud motors, but quite a bit with torque and props in airplanes, and outboards. There is a bunch of other forces, depending on the angle of the prop in the water one side of the prop is getting more pushing force, basically one side has more pitch, lets say it is the descending side of the prop, so that side will be biting more water/mud, which will also cause it to pull harder in one direction. I can't totally apply this to mud motors cause I don't know which direction the prop is turning. This is called P Factor in airplanes. If the torque from the engine, the "wheel" force from the prop, and the P factor on the prop are all acting in the same direction, you best grow some larger muscles. THen when you add that the prop is lets say 8 ft behind you and your only 4 ft in front of the pivot point on the motor, well it has twice the leverage on you, so 10 lbs of force on the prop becomes 20 lbs of force to you. The only way to even some of that out is put a longer tiller handle on your side or shorten the shaft on the back side. OH wait a mintue shortening the shaft will increase the angle of the prop in the water, which will increase the P factor so good luck. Although the shaft length is probably hurting you more than the P factor is. IF you look at outboard boats and several airplanes this P factor is why they use counter rotating props. One turns one way the other the opposite direction. This way the motors are fighting each other, instead of you. If you put 2 normal outboards on a boat it will always have a left turning tendency, kind of like walking with 2 differant length legs, you will get dizzy.
Sorry for the length, think the flight instructor came out of me on this one.

 Re: Hard to turn right?
Let off the gas and punch it again while you turn, you are fighting your prop's torque.
