Post go-devil rookie
Hey guys just joined the site. i just bought a 15 ft. war eagle with a 31 hp Go-Devil long tail about 3 weeks ago. I'm still getting the hang of it and had a few questions.

Ok even with no gear and just my self in the boat i still cant get up on a plain, why is that? i know they ant made for speed but i figured with a 31 hp id at least be able to plain out. i inspected the prop and it is pretty worn. I also changed out the throttle along with a new heaver spring and a new throttle cable. with the new spring it seems to do a little better but not much. What all can i do to get my speed up? I'm not wanting to break a speed record or anything i would just like to at least get up on a plain.

all feedback will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Replace prop. A worn prop affects the running in a big way.

X100 on prob. I smoked mine the other day on the pre dee river(small rocks are a bitty). Hunted Sat morning for early duck in NC and had to trim way down to keep off limiter. I was only running 23 with 2 guys, dog and small hunting load. Replaced prob Sunday for the cooper and was back at 29.8 in the weeds

If you don't have a tiny tach, install one so you can more accurately monitor motor and any adjustments. If you can record speeds on a GPS this will help also to assess performance and any gains. You should always have a good prop and a spare to be ready. Do those cavitation plate adjustments in small increments, like 1/4" at a time...you can try and install a "trim tab" like the MB style to get the same adjustment without having to mess with the main plate. When you remove the prop, clean the threads and before installing the new prop put some anti-seize grease on them. Inspect the washers and retaining nuts and replace if needed. I have a 1648/27 LT setup and I got better planing by moving the battery up front. Each hull is different and I have no experience with the WarEagle. Make sure you have a working kill switch and wear the lanyard. Have fun!

If your RPM's are really high, 4k+ range, its probly just the prop.

If not, there are more problems.
What does the prop measure blade to blade at the widest point?
