Mine is a 2, about 3 years old probably, and it wont carry the 4th.
That, or I'm just too stupid to figure it out.

 Re: ghost loading
I bought a new SBE II last year, and it wont........or I'm as stupid as Owen. Buddy of mine got a Montefeltro at a DU banquet this year. The receiver is different that my SBE II, but it has the exact same action and it cant float a 4th either.

 Re: ghost loading
Sbe 1 and stoger directions: Load 2 shells in the magazine tube pull the bolt bOlt back( if you her an audible click you have gone to far). While you are holding the bolt back, work a shell into the feed tray. Once shell ia down in the feed tray put another one in the chamber and let bolt go home. The trick is getting the feel for your bolt. Practice pulling the bolt back and stopping right before you hear the click.
Dear gamewardens come search mt house I own neither of these guns. So you can suck it

 Re: ghost loading
What I have learned is ... by the time I see any gunner gittin' beyound shell 3 the dang byrd has gottin' to wide or high and ain't gonna hit it anyways .... beyound 3 most times is only fo cripples and you should be ables to git that one loaded fast enuff .... Law says 3 so I shoot 3 .... Law don't say 1 and or 2 .... says 3 .... so I shoot 3 .....

 Re: ghost loading
Shells are too expensive for me know when I miss 3 times. I'm not shooting 4 times to miss.
