 Questions about Go devil
hey guys I just bought my first mud rig and took it out yesterday and I now have a couple questions. the motor is a 16 hp vanguard GD LT. first off when the motor is at idle it sounds like its missing or not getting enough fuel but the spark plugs are fine and the fuel filter seems fine as well. As soon as I give it a bit of throttle it runs smooth as can be. Second question is can anyone explain how to change the front seal on the shaft of the motor right behind the first u-joint closest to the motor? I do not have a service manual so I do not know how to change it. third question, I can get a K&N air filter from work that will fit in the air box. Do they help out on power like the K&N filters in car engines? Also does anyone have custom intakes and do they make a noticeable difference? Sorry for all the questions guys.

 Re: Questions about Go devil
Many problems trace to fuel line size and condition, on a new setup that is a very likely culprit - go small at 1/4" hose from an auto parts house - get a good bulb - I like the Yamaha bulb with small diameter tips made for their smaller tiller models the bulbs at walmart will work but not near the quality - and new tank fitting too - eliminate that stuff first.
Run a few gallons of pure fresh high octane and see if it self heals, some motors just need a little use to line out - grease her and run her.
Call GoDevil for a few bucks postage I bet they will send you the books, and talk you through any problems or maintenance needs.

 Re: Questions about Go devil
call dawn at godevil and she'll send you a manual... also be sure to give her all your info for your warranty. she'll take carer of you. As you will find out in time, if your motor gives you problems most likely it will be a fuel problem. Do like giga said and get you some good 1/4" fuel line and run some high octane fuel....check your tank for trash too. good luck bro...

I forgot to mention that the motor is used. Its a 2000 model motor, so no warrenty. It does have brand new 1/4 inch fuel line and a bulb. It also doesnt have a tach so I dont know what RPMs its runnig at. Anyone know where I can find one cheap, go devil wants 50 for it?
