 stage 2 vs stage 3
Im almost completed building my heads, port polish, deck, shim sprngs, 3 angle valve seats, manley ss valves, billet push rods, and soon rockers. I already have evt carb and intake and should order exhaust this week. So now that im almost out of everything i can do without cracking the case open. First off the main thing i hear failing in the 35's is cams so im debating on if to do a cam. Next I will replace the connecting rod but im debating on piston setup. The main thing that seperates a stage 2 from a stage 3 is shaved pistons or extreme flat tops. Im leery of doing any work that cannot be returned to stock if performance parts become hard to find. flattop pistons require boring the block, cut pistons dont . What would be the diference in hp from a stage 2 to a stage 3? Also do bps pistons require a bored cylinder or are they stock fitted? Anyone running them and how do they perform?

Re: stage 2 vs stage 3
i doubt performance parts will become scarce, being that they were available before surface drives were, due to lawmower racing and go karts and shit

Re: stage 2 vs stage 3
How about putting what you have together and seeing how it runs. You may be very happy with the performance from heads, carb, and muffler.
