Re: MB offering 40hp Kohler I asked my GD man bout the 40 Kohler and his reply was that it had the hp alright but not the torque they wanted on the low end...
I would love to see a torque curve comparison to the 35 and 36 hps that are already the mainstay of the MM market.... If the power is all on the hi end of the rpm band - it won't fit the application of a MM...

My point was that your little offhanded trying to be sly statement didn't make much sense.
When in fact, when you shorten stroke or length, you reduce Torque.
Power is the rate at which work is done or energy is transmitted.
Torque is a factor, but not the sole or single factor in the power equation.
Need any more physics lessons call me.

Angular velocity is also used to formulate power when characterizing rotational systems. Power put out by an engine is equal to the force it exerts (Torque) multiplied by its angular velocity (RPM). If you shorten the stroke of an engine, you then lesson the force it exerts (Torque) With that being said, I stand by what I said earlier: If you shorten the stroke of an engine you will reduce power.Does my offhanded, trying to be sly statement make sense now?  And thanks for the offer on the physics lesson ...............I may take you up on it.
