 Re: Boat Set Up
Probably not...
Is it not plaining? What are your RPM's? Is your prop worn? What kinda load did you have?

 Re: Boat Set Up
Sounds like you are putting too much weight into too small of a boat.

 Re: Boat Set Up
Replace the prop, but you probably still aren't going to plane that load in that little ass boat.

 Re: Boat Set Up
You won't plane that load.
When the planets align I have gotten 3 little guys and 4 dozen deeks on step and running about 14-15 with my 24. moving a decoy bag made the difference in plaining out.

 Re: Boat Set Up
I need a new hull, I am going to get at least one more season out of this one before I turn it into a pond boat. I just wanted someone elses opinion other than MB on their performance pods. They are only $299. I need a new dog ladder anyways , thought i would kill two birds with one stone.

 Boat Set Up
I run a 1542 with a 20hp GDLT - get decent speeds - just got a new prop - so that helps As far as getting on a plane... I think a bigger boat is what you're looking at. Mine is no speed demon - but it gets me in and out of where I feel comfortable taking it.

Let me know when you try a 9hp GDLT with 2 guys and 4 doz dekes and a blind and hunting gear on the 1542 - prop worn to 7-1/4" x 4 lol 7mph is about as fast as we can go BUT - still goes where I need it to - just slower Yeah I know - need a new prop Need more money too...
