Post speed on a 7 hp LT
I know it aint going to be fast. if anyone has something close to a 7 hp what kind of speed can I expect on what boat. I am thinking of putting it on a 12x32 or a 14x36. for just me and some decoys. what do ya'll think about that motor with those boats?

i ran a 6.5 on a 14x32 for a little while and it worked great in the swamp i was hunting. even had 3 200lb+ guys in it once and it pushed right along. it was also lite enough to drag up deep into the woods to hide it while hunting. i wouldnt expect great performance in any current tho

thanks

I just want something lite and small enough to put in the creeks we have around here where there isn't a boat ramp, and maby not enough water for my big boat.
so you dont think the 14x36 would be to big for the 7 hp

Na, 7hp will push you along in a 1436 fine. but that is about all it will do. i have 2 motors for my 1442, a 9 and a 16. i like the 9 because its light and easy to steer but if there is current or i have to go pushin over niggerheads then i use the 16. friend has a stump jumper and he doesnt even take his bigger one out anymore. he puts it on a 10ft bass assasin and gets into those places where there is no boat ramps.

i think it would be fine but like garjacker said a 9 would give you a little more umph. after i got the 6.5 i got a 9hp gd an ran it on a 14x48. it was great with just me and my gear but with 2 ppl it was just a way to get there. nothing exciting but it worked. waiting on a 23hp now
