I have also noted that announcement, and this is welcome news. I also notice the 27 standard LT is no longer offered- the Generac 33 supplants this motor. I currently have a 2004 27 HP MB LT and I must say it has been really good; been running it during and after duck season and apart from the oil/filter changes at the prescribed intervals, new plugs, and infrequent additions of grease, the motor is a workhorse. I did have to replace the throttle cable but that was my fault for overstressing it when I first tweaked it. I am curious to read any field trials of both motors, as well as the advertised new LT, the Generac 33. I obviously welcome the reduction gear to turn a slightly larger prop not so sure about the clutch; the latter may give problems but then again if it is demonstrated to be reliable the neutral feature will be cool.

Waiting for some reviews on the slt glad mudbuddy is going to offer the 27 hp motors in the new line up.

anybody know what prop and reduction they run on the 27 or the 23?

I hope everything sounds good i plan on getting the 35 when I save up a little more money. Right now I am more than half way there!

Woodwhat?, just curious, what hull are you planning on putting that 35 on? I am thinking the same HP, I have a 1648 but want to move up to a 1848 configuration.

well don't have a hull picked out yet actually. i wouldn't mind a 16x44 considering the fact it never is more than me and my buddy but i don't know if weight of motor would be to much. will be shopping for a while before i find the boat i want. if i have to bump up to a 18x44 i would mind just gotta find one for sale within my price range. only positive of smaller boat is it owuld be that much lighter and faster.

why is that? Seems counterintuitive

As the mfg.'s have always recommended a longer hull-the physics of it has to with more bottom surface displacement and less draft. I'm a big guy and even with an open hull 1648, when I hunt three out of my boat it is crowded; a 1848 would be about right.
