Post gtr steering-should i save money here
been studying gator-tail's website and noticed that once you buy the parts for steering, its another 1000 dollars for them to hook it up. seems really really high to me. how hard is this to do? i mean mounting wheel, throttle, running hoses, and throttle cable SOUNDS really simple. wondering if i can save jack here. any imput? maybe im forgetting something, but a while back we hooked up a teleflex steering on my buddys 25 and it was all over in a good day of work. any imput?

Not done it myself but...

Throttle
Steering-hydraulic both ends and bleed
Electric clutch
Kill switch
Ignition switch
Trim switch
Reverse hydraulics

A bit more than just a teleflex cable

Now can you do it....??

The switch that says START / FORWARD, is the electric clutch.

No reason you can't do this stuff yourself, just wanted to point out it was more than just the steering setup.

If I was gonna do it all over again and I wasn't on a tight budget I would just fork up the extra cash. It takes Mike at gator tail about 20 hours to rig one up. It took me about 35 hours my first time and there are a few things that had to be done 2 or 3 times before I had it right. Its not hard, just time consuming and some things are a little more tricky than they seem. You have to remember when hooking it up that you are using parts that were not designed for that application and some may need some very minor fabrication to fit correctly. Either way, good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.
