Has anyone ever converted a Kawasaki four wheeler engine to a long tail? I did some searching and didn't find much. I have the engine from a bike I parted out and I'm looking at it thinking I may be able to do it. A few things I'm not sure of though. This engine has a belt driven CVT clutch system and I'm not sure if that will work for a boat motor. The other thing is it's liquid cooled, so I would have to make the cooling system part of the frame work of the longtail. Not sure how bulky that will get. I'm sure of it's power. It's a 650 CC v-twin and about 50-60 HP it should push a 16 ft boat easy. I've seen the Harley motor longtails, but they don't have the clutch system I talking about. I guess my main question is would a clutch system like that work on a mud motor?
