Ive seen two or three GTs on here with whale tails. Can anyone explain how this helps the motor run better???

It has nothing to do with performance.Correct me if i am wrong.It helps keep the water and such from going into the boat while using reverse.Just directs the water down.I thought it was a good idea and it looks fast.

I asked him about it. He told me its something they are trying to help shoot water under the boat to help it in reverse.

I was also told it helps not to shoot water n reverse and that it made the reverse alot stronger

now that yall say that, doesnt look like to bad a deal. Im just wondering how it will do when you trim all the way down in the mud.

i saw my old bayboat and it now has a whale-tail on it. i asked the guy what it did for the boat and he claims it gets on step faster and holds plane at slower speeds. i always thought it was a gimmick, but apparently it works.

I used a WhaleTail one time on a Fish/Ski when I was pullin' the kiddo's skiin' and kneeboardin' ...... It dang shore will enable fo the boathull to run flat and stay that way at a much slower speed. I also was runnin' a four blade prop.

Just thot I would tho a 2 cent info on what I knows 'bout a whaletail !!!

i saw and asked bout a whale tail on a gtr thats for sell on here and i didnt get an answer but i think they look the ghayest on a mudmotor and serve not enuf purpose to put on off depending on where your goin i got one on my bass boat but REALLY a mud motor if it aint good for mud why intha hell would you want one.

I saw a similar design in action a few months back and it really did help the reverse. The one I saw didn't do anything for it in forward cause it was out of the water when going forward but I am sure they have changed the design up a bit from that one.

I run a type of tail on my motor mainly for the reverse. It doesnt fill my boat with water.
