 27 on 14x38
Will the motor be too back heavy for my 14x38 jon boat. The boat weights around 200 pounds and the motor probably weighs 180 pounds. I was just wondering if its too heavy, and if it is, will i have to put performance pods from beavertail?

Come on man, this is your second post asking questions that have been discussed many times before. Use the damn search feature at the top of the page!

 Re: 27 on 14x38
Duck-killa, I started out with an 18 HP Briggs LT on a 1436 jon back in 1989 and it was tricky running with that boat, I was lucky not to have swamped it. A lot of hunters with smaller hulls like yours have experienced good gains with pods. I have read a lot of reports on this site about those small Copperhead surface drives really doing well with 14' hulls. Try and find a local mud motor dealer and take a test drive. Don't get too flustered by some of the "vinegar" you get here, I learned to let it slide by, laugh heartily.

Thanks for the clarification cb, but they are called claspers not dicks What's the old song? If your gonna be stupid then you gotta be tough? If your going to come on here and ask questions like your first 2 then you had better have a thick skin.
