Post Little known Texas Laws being inforced...
Just as a reminder:

Salvina (also known as salvinia molesta)

"The Texas Legislator passed the law in 2005. Failure to comply is a Class C misdemeanor. Fines can go as high as $500 per plant."

In an effort to not populate other bodies of water with this fishery killer, Texas Legislator passed a law stating that you must remove all invasive plants from boat trailer before trailering or leaving the launch. This is to avoid boaters from relaunching elsewhere and spreading this vegetation. Lakes and bodies of water have spent in excess of $200,000 + to spray and rid their areas and its now being in forced by game wardens locally as well as law enforcement officers state wide by those blatantly disregarding this law.

Just a reminder as the run draws closer here in Texas.

I often wonder why NO - TPWD - boat ramps
have wash down equipment to clean a boat
and trailer after reloading....

I would happily pay a buck for such facilities....

They alos expect you to pick your boat up off the trailer bunks to remove any veggies that could have gotten pinched between the hull and the trailer bunks.

Yep --- had to back in and out 6 or 7 times once
at a fully hyacinth impacted ramp till I got the boat
down on the boards with no salad stuck in between....

GW standin right there inspecting me --- before I pulled
up the hill to get the usual inspection of fish etc...

That salt water that came with Ike killed every bit of it
in our coastal marsh... Till the next "flushing" flood pushes
it outa Livinston and re-infests us...

I know of an area lake that ain't gots the Giant Sylvania and thays spotted some at one of the boat ramps ..... thays shut the ramp Down !!! Just fo a few weeks and thays put the study and removal of that weed and then re-opened the ramp. I believe that it is a materfact that most that stuff can git transferred from trailerin' from one lake to the other. But just like a vinerual diesese ..... the only ways you gonna stop it is abstences !!!

I have in the last few years learned not to litter the lake or lake area .... and now I have made a dississions to try to clean mines boat trailer from these plant life just because. But I really don't thank we gonna be able to stop it.

I agree Brooks... I've already seen some growth forming around Hugo Point Boat Ramp South of I-10 just west of Trinity River... I know for a fact that ramp gets bad or did before Ike (yearly)
