Post House training, about how long??
I was just wondering about how long it took y'all to house train your pups.. I've had mine for about 5 weeks now and she knows kennel, and sits and comes to the whistle and stuff, but will freaking piss anywhere..

I brought her outside for about 15 min. She didn't pee, went inside and told her kennel, she walked in there on her own, turned around and pissed in the middle of her kennel.. I watch her and she doesn't give any hints or warnings before she does it or even sniff around. She'll pee on the cement of the back porch, inside the house, on the back deck. I don't let her see me clean it when she pees inside and act like she just saved my life when she goes outside.. Help please.

It takes as long as it takes...........Some take one day and some never get it.
How old is your pup?
How long have you been trying to work on potty training?
Does she have a command to potty when she is put out?
Does she get punished for potty in the house?
How consistant and frequent are you at getting her outside?
Did you teach her to ask to go out?
Is she kennel box trained?
Why don't you let her see you cleaning up an accident?

She is 13 weeks old and have been trying since we got her at 7 weeks old. At night or when we are busy, she is put in her kennel.. And I tell her do your business when we go outside in the mornings right before she pees. And I read a lot of places that said don't let them see u clean it cause they'll think it's ok to go there, and I haven't punished her really cause she's still young, didn't wanna go the rought of rubbing her nose in it and throwing her outside, just yet anyways even though I'd like to.

If you catch her IN THE ACT, scoop her up and run her outside to the spot you want her to use. Might be a little messy. Make a big deal out of the negative while scooping her up and a big deal about the positive outside.

I am of the school that says rubbing noses after the fact might make you feel better but it will not help the training. I also believe a small area outside that is the bathroom is better than the whole yard. I think it makes it easier for the pup to grasp early on.

Lastly, if the pup peed in the kennel, is the kennel too big? Just big enough for them to turn around and not big enough to get away from thier mess.

I had one that I finally figured out had bladder issues and once that was sorted out she never peed where she was not supposed to again.

Every time your dog messes in the house, shoot it in the head with a .22 mag. After the first time it will never mess in the house again.

Glad that phase is behind me. I am curious to how big her kennel is, do you section it off with a box? I had maybe three accidents in the kennel when my dog was younger, and I attribute those all to being my fault. I gave him water before putting him up and leaving. At that age i pretty much had him on a leash constantly near me. I would take him out immediately after drinking or eating. Then I would take him out every 30 minutes or so. I would say the chosen command word when he began to relieve himself and tried to go to the same area every time and get extremely happy. If I caught him in the act, at first I would say nothing and just clean it up. Feeling that this wasn't getting the point across if, and only if, I caught him in the act I would scold him. I would say it took a couple of months, but I saw him grasping the concept and improving as time went on. The first day he went to the door I was grateful. Now he barks at you to take him out or at the door or does this funky running around thing like he's hunched up if you're not fast enough. He's just shy of 8 months. I know he is pretty much broken because I can go to other folks house and if he is welcome, he'll go to their door too.

She has improving a lot in the last week or so.. Only a couple times she went in the house, but she's going to the back door now, and I go to a little corner of the yard every time she only peed in her kennel cause we both had work and she was left in there from 8-5.
