Post GDSD prop blade widths?
I'm assuming these are both shot? Ones a 3 blade, the other a 2 blade...

Also, any one had success putting more cup onto the used up props? Theres a prop place here in town...

Great. I tried searching but this app sucks. Are my pics accurately measured?

I thought you were suppose to measure across the whole prop, from tip to tip. I know, kinda had on the 3 blade, but the 2 blade...........

They appear to have some cup left............how much speed have you lost..............it the prop jumping out of the water more...........?

I have yet to wear my 3 blade out so I'm not sure how much can be taken off without losing enough performance to warrant a $260 purchase.

Some cup left but you've probably lost material on that leading edge.

I'm still running 25-30 depending on load. And by load 25 is 6 adults, dog, cooler, chair, tubes and shit.

But yes, it is blowing out some. Tried taking the 3 blade off the other day to try out the two blade...... Wow. That's a bitch. I just bought a large spindle socket that I'm going to attempt to make a prop removal .... We'll see how it goes!

Post Re: GDSD prop blade widths?
I had better luck with adding a "bit" of cup to the 2 blade than
messing with the 3 blade.... A little added cup goes a long way
on that trailing edge at mid blade to 2/3 out on the blade....

Your at the end of life on that 3 blade - it will turn into a paper weight
with one or two more tough mud digging sessions when it measures 3 1/8....

Get you a new one on order and save the old one for "scouting" and
hard runs only.... I like to keep swapping mine around every so often
cause it keeps them easy to change and save the newest one for
loaded hunting runs....

50 bucks will buy you the GD tool - it makes them easy to change my
summer 2 blade had 40 to 50 hours on it all salt water and it took about
5 whack with the tool with one hand to break loose - would have been
a biatch with a cinder block and 2x4....

Post Re: GDSD prop blade widths?
Here you go...

Lug is about 2 1/2 inches long and is just under 2 inches
center to center of the collar hole...

Collar is threaded for LT on one end and SD on the other...

To use - put large box end or pipewrench (not crescent) on the
inside nut so it contacts the cav plate - you remove outer nut - thread
collar to within 1/8" of the prop leaving room for the prop to turn - slide
tool onto collar and spin it vigorously with one hand - this causes the lug
to jar the prop - give it 5 or 6 of these jarring maneuvers before you
try to put an ass load of torque on it - in fact try to avoid the torque
and use the tool as a big ass impact device....

No crescent - the jaws give and don't give you the solid impacts you need

Put a good grease or never cieze on her when you reassemble

Little Trick after you get the prop off and put a new one on. Leave the back jam nut up a thread (not bottoming out on shaft) so when you go to undo the prop again you unscrew the back nut, unscrew the front nut and can spin prop by hand. Do not need any tools other than you sockets/wrenches. Easy fix to a poor design.
And for those without a lick of common sense you will need to hold back nut when retighting or it will puah back nut to shaft.

If your as fast a DDM - you could probably almost get your semi melted
cover off and swap out your trans fluids in the same time - LOL

you must not know shit my cover aint melted and i havent changed the trans oil in 600 hrs and still didnt have a problem with it. i dont know what you GD guys are talking about all these repairs that GTR or having i put 600hrs on my motor in 1 1/2 yrs with minimal issues. do the research the amount of repairs VS the # of GTR's out there the % of repairs is extremly low.GTR is not the #1 MM out there for nothing.

I STILL CAN'T GET THE PROP OFF. Haven't made my tool yet though. Or used heat. But I was running just me and the dog and at 3700rpms I hit 26-28 just cruising deep water. Pretty sure I wound it up to 4150 and saw 31-32 too.

Fowl mood, I REALLY want to put my motor on a GTR frame! That would make me a happy camper
