Post Light bar mount and cover
Ive seen plenty of light bars but I was wondering what some of your ideas are for a bracket or light protector. Most of the lights I've seen mounted on the front have no means of protecting it from limbs, or people falling on it. What did you make yours out of? I like the one from mud buddy or gator trax but they don't sell the brackets alone, it's the whole light kit and all.

Mine is 5 inches from front to back and I cant remember the rest of the dimensions but It is made of 1/4 aluminum plate. It was cheap you could build one for any size of light bar or set of lights.

3/4" schedule 40 steel pipe welded to plates that bolt to some solid spots on the bow. Sum bitch is tough and has saved the GoLight's ass multiple times!

coot are u not worried about galvanic corrision bolting steel to aluminium. i would at least install a sacrificial anode. i have also seen where guys use steel rivets in a alum. boat. instead of alum. rivets. not good

I was kinda wondering about that. I probably need to mount a zinc up there somewhere, shouldn't I?

you could also find an old piece of flat rubber mat and cut out the shape of your mount and slip it between..

I need to build one myself. Probably just going to build a removable one but it will be some time before I have access to an aluminum welder.

Some kind of spacer is a must to seperate the metals , we use and old plastic 55 gallon barreland cut peice's from that as spacers they work great just use a jigsaw.
