Post homemade small surface drive
First off, idk if this is the right forum, new to the site, well first post new! Ive decided to take the plunge to build a surface drive, now i know they have ones for next to nothing and most people might say dont waste your time buy one. But its been a good experience so far just understanding how there work. At any rate the motor is a 13 hp hf motor, im building the frame to accept a larger motor if i ever find a good deal. So far i have built the shaft housing, cut it up and redoing it, the box and transom mount is built. Im running belt drive, dont have wnough patience to fool with the chain. With that being said here she is

And the transom mount. With manual trim, i left enough room to add electric later if i want.

Built several standard LT. No clutch but will have some gear reduction. Have not worked out ratio I will go with. The way I am going to build it should be less work and welding and I will be able to go from small block to big block without a big hassel. Thanks for any info. Still in the planning stage.
