 1644 GT/35 Mud Buddy Hyper
After wrestling with my LT and even modding it to make it faster, I believe I have got the easiest rig in the world. Don't get me wrong, I loved my LT and the mods made it so much better, but when you turn 45 years old you start wanting things to be a bit easier.
I can cruise at 26 in the wind and 27 in the creek with lesser wind, this thing corners like a race car and can turn on a dime. In the lilly pads I was almost hitting 30. I wasn't hauling a big load, just me (225) the dog (70) full tank of fuel, battery and a cooler full of beverages, but it was like going from driving a tank to being in a formula 1 race car. I know everybody bags on MB on here but I been on this site a while and just had to post this up.

Re: 1644 GT/35 Mud Buddy Hyper
hey tex,
how skinny of water have you been able to run that setup in? hard or soft bottom? i'm looking to pick up a similar setup. mb 35 mini on a 15-16' x 44-46" wide boat. i'm still undecided on the motor size and the length/width of the boat. if i go long and narrow or short and fat.
also, did you end up with the 18 or 21" sides?

Re: 1648 GT/35 Mud Buddy Hyper
Thought the boat was a 1644 but after measuring the boat it seems to be a 1648 with 21" sides. Seemed to be doing just fine in some very skinny water, the bottom at Cedar Creek is pretty hard mud. I haven't had it in any soft mud, there's not much around here.

Sounds like a nice set up. I hope you have a good season with the duck birds. I'm sure this rig will get you to and from where you want to go!!!

Re: 1644 GT/35 Mud Buddy Hyper
Could you post some photos of your rig. Sounds like a sweet ride.
I run the GDSD 16X60 with a stock GDSD 35. Here on the big bays of coastal NC we need larger boats, but the 16x60 is mighty sweet in the marsh and mud....but seriously thinking about going to a larger boat next year, and looking at different boats.

Re: 1644 GT/35 Mud Buddy Hyper
Don't have this rig anymore sold it and went with a smaller, creek running rig.
