 Start over maybe
Ok this is my first one I don't know what I'm doing I found a 6 foot pipe that is used for making the roll cage In dragsters it not that thick of walled. Will not hold a set screw But will hold the zerks. So I welded on some nuts to hold set screws. It just going to be a 7hp longtail should I use the tube or Find somthing thicker. How tuff should the outer house be.

thats for the shaft housing?? i definitely would go thicker. even if you only have 7hp, the impact is still high when you hit something. just my .02

 Re: Start over maybe
the shaft transfers all of the upward shock through the bushings and into the tube, not to mention steering forces and some of the thrust load. I wouldnt go thin on the shaft tube, it will probably bend
