Going to the bathroom in the house.
I'll start off by saying that my dog is really smart, and for the life of me cant understand why she is doing this.
But it seems like any chance she gets, she will go into my daughters room and shit and piss on the floor, so much that im about to have to tear out the carpet. She stays outside most of the time. The previous owner said he didnt have any problems with the dog going inside the house. The only thing I can think of is that my wifes little dog has pissed in that room a time or two, and that Roux is being dominant, and marking over the top of where the other dog pissed. It makes me so mad, I wanna take her out back and put a .22 bullet between her eyes.
The only solution I can come up with is make her a 24/7 outside dog.
Any suggestions on how I can train this out of her?

Right now she is outside in her crate, and im so mad i'll prolly only let her out a few times a day to go to the bathroom and eat a little bit for the next couple of days.

Re: Going to the bathroom in the house.
the piss smell on the carpet is one reason. id bring the crate to the room once in a while and let the dog out just to smell it then right back in the crate. i hear they dont take physical abuse like a lab will.be careful... all i gotta say is BAD, and mine thinks the world just ended.lol.

if she ends up back inside,id make that room off limits... she will smell it even though you cant. train her not to go there at all, wether carpet gets changed or not.

Re: Going to the bathroom in the house.
Just start from scratch with house training. Block access to all areas that you can't watch while she is out. Put her in a crate any time you will not be able to watch her constantly. Take her out every hour to the same spot, and take her out after every meal. Remember that the bladder on that little dog is a fraction of the size of a big ole lab. Maybe she is acting out due to lack of attention? If so take her out and work on obedience training for a bit every day then some play time. Like most things, patience and consistency is important with training dogs, kids, and wives!

Make sure she understands that going to the bedrooms is off limits. Although I dont have that issue with my 2 yo female, she was the worst dog I ever delt with as a puppy to house break the first couple months. Good thing we dont have carpet. But I also notice now that when I let her out in the front yard to piss she is just like a male dog in that she puts her nose to the ground and finds a spot where other dogs have been and will mark that spot. She may piss 2-3 times in different spots before she is finished. Never seen that with female dogs before.

Re: Going to the bathroom in the house.
My min pin was bad about going to try to piss in our bedroom. When she is inside the doors are closed especially if we are incandescent out and not paying attention to her. Now we have this bad ass cat and she's afraid to get out of her chair she sleeps in

Do you let her free drink by leaving water available all the time. If so you might want to restrict her water intake while in the house.

Re: Going to the bathroom in the house.
Her food and water stays outside. She has no problem holding her bladder, that dog can go without pissing for 10-12 hours easy. I think she is just doing it to be a dominant bitch.

mine,as far as sniffing, does EXACTLY like poker described...just thought all dogs did that. mine wont shit or piss inside...can definately hold it too...brought her on an offshore mackerel trip, she refused to use it on the deck..went almost 40 hrs without shotting or pissing.lol. poor lil bitch shit twice and peed 4 times in a matter of 60 feet, all while chasing seagulls off the warf,as soon as she hit land again.

Re: Going to the bathroom in the house.
If your determined to keep her inside, ya gotta show her your the dominant dog of the house. Catch her doing it, scold the hell out of her. Rub her nose in it. Make a big fuss, don't hit her. Just show her she isn't pleasing you. Anytime she shots or pisses outside, make a big deal about it. Give her a lot of encouragement a lotta good girls and belly rubbing and head patting. Should have to do this only once but keep encouraging her when she does it outside
