THe rockwell scale is the hardness of a part.

I think one thing may help a prop last somewhat longer.... Cryogenically treating it. How much??? probably not long enough to help wear. It will make it stronger from striking objects though.

I ran props gt sent me with treatments, coatings and others. Best I found so for was poring a bottle of mountain dew on them. It only cost $1 and it's ads up to about the same outcome. Take that for what it's worth

I use my boat in the river alot here and it has a sandy bottom and I don't plan on stopping just because it wears my prop I'll just buy a new one I'm just trying to figure out what the best route is. Since I will be blowing through props. I really dont G.A.F. If I have to buy a new one every month but if I can save 40 bucks every time or get a stronger one its better for my pocket book.

Did anyone run a Cryo treated prop? It is a long FREEZING process to restructure the metal and make it last longer and be stronger. In the offroad industry people cro treat axle shafts, gearsets, and bearing to have more strength and longer service life.

So Todd pouring mountain dew on them is about the most cost effective method and get about the same outcome!!
