 Re: mud motors
There are other Forums where you will see a much different mix. Happens this site has majority PD and GT. There are some MB here like myself.
None of them are 'that much better', they all have their + / - .

 Re: mud motors
Also different parts of the country have different mixes of brands at the boat ramp.... Here in my area most are GD followed by PD a few GT and almost no MB....
Not an opinion - just an observation...

 Re: mud motors
I agree that what you see at a boat ramp close to you can have some regional implications. Out west, 95+ per cent of the short tails that I have seen are Mudbuddy. I run a Prodrive. The only one I have ever seen in Idaho. Have seen a Gatortail or two and have never laid eyes on a Go Devil Surface Drive.
What you see in your area can be affected by: 1) Proximity to the manufacturer 2) Is there a dealer in your area? 3) Is he any good?

 Re: mud motors
See a lot of MB owners in my area cause that's the only dealer we have. And old go-devil longtails cause forever that's all there was, and old farts just can't seem to shake down and get something new. But on this site you have the serious crowd that take it a little further than what the dealer down the road has. The motors are all the same, but Gator-tail and Prodrive by far have the better rigs. I really don't know what the heck MB and Go-devil are waiting on, but once there are enough GTR and PD dealers around, anything without reverse won't even get a second glance anymore.

Up here PD and MB are the most common, then the GD. Only seen one GT on the pool in the last 3 years.

 Re: mud motors
You will see more go devils and mud buddys because coco has been around for like 25 years(I've still got one thats 20 years old) and mud buddy has been around for 15. I believe thats what I saw.
Anyway they were already established with dealers around the country. This makes it easy for go devil and mud buddy to sell more because they have been around and in most places they are the only game in town.I would be reluctant to buy anything that if I had warranty issues I could not bring it to be serviced. If you were to have only one car dealership in your town and the compition was 500 miles away that car dealership would sell alot of cars because they were there and all your neighbors would have them to.
