what is the fiscal cliff? its a made up name to instill fear.....it is just the sunsetting of the bush era tax cuts, that is it!!! you could add in the debt ceiling, but thats another matter.......I think republicans should hold out for what they want in reductions in spending and let obama and the dems own whatever happens.......If the government would end the practice of automatic spending increases as well as a reduction in current spending and allow bush era tax cuts to expire, everyone would be a part of getting us out of the debt we are in.....The whole idea of taxing the rich is idiotic....the revenues will fund the government for 11 days.....we need a much more drastic approach to reduce our debt and everyone should pay, from rich to poor, if the poor loose some of their entitlement benefits or have them greatly reduced and those in the middle and upper classes get a tax height, we will all feel the pain equally. but increasing taxes without a reduction in spending will do nothing but give the government more to spend and they will continue to borrow almost 50 cents for every dollar spent. I also feel the republicans should hold out on doing anything untill there is a budget passed. how can you conduct business and maintain fiscal responsibility without a budget? and constitutionally they are supposed to have a budget. damn politicians living above the law!! That goes for all of them.

I do not want republicans coming together with the socialists. Step back, vote present, and do not put so much as one republican fingerprint on any tax.

Right now, Obama is in a hole. If I know the current moron republicans, they will walk over, reach down and pull Obama out, jump into the hole themselves, and then pile dirt on their own heads.

Let the democrats own this economy, and let the American people feel the sting of their decision. They voted for socialism, growing the federal gov, more restrictions, higher taxes, then let them have it.

If you are a businessman, slim back, lay folks off, and be patient for four years. If you are an investor, hold off, keep what you have in limbo, and wait for four years.

When the economy nose dives, perhaps the American voter will extract their head from their butt.

They should continue to put forward bills and passing them.....the more that can stack up on harry reids desk, the better. he wont put any to a vote, so he becomes the roadblock to progress.

personally I feel that this was Obama's goal the entire time. To drive us off the cliff, raise taxes and blame the rebublicans the entire time no matter what happens. I mean think about it from a socialist democratic point of view. Why tax just the 1% when you can tax everybody?
He never wanted a deal He want to destroy the historic american way b/c in his opionion America is a colonial power, which he hates, and wants us to be a world partner not a world leader.
