1. Teachers are an inherently violent group.
2. Teachers hate each other.

Yeah the LAW worked real well for those firemen today. An ex-con who btw can not legally obtain a fire arm acording to the LAW, killed people. How'd that ever hapen since there is a LAW? Here's my take on it. I don't think I would want to arm the teachers, that could be more harm than good if some bad kid got a hold of the gun from the teacher. Also, I'd be afraid of the teacher getting too freaked out if shit really went down and not being able to handle it. What would be better is the armed guard deal where 2 or more are stationed at different parts of the school. They could dress in plain clothes and carry concealed so they don't alarm anyone but everyone knows the deal. This would let any dirtbag mofo thinking about doing something stupid know that he's got a chance of getting his ass shot before carrying out his plan. They don't want to get shot, that's why they shoot themselves.

Another thing would be cameras in every school, this would also work in junction with the guards, maybe have them be able to see the cams on their cel phones so they can see what's happening at a glance wherever they are. Some don't like the idea of armed guards at school, but gun laws and gun free zones don't matter to these crazy fuckers, I mean you think Adam Lanza gave a shit about a gun free zone? He had just shot his mom in the face multiple times before heading to the school, I don't think the gun free zone deal worked out too great. The ones that are worried about guards in schools don't stop to think about how long it takes cops to arrive, even then there's no guarantee that the shooter stops killing because the cops get there. Someone in the school that is trained to deal with this type of threat is what's needed, someone who is trained to execute if necessary to protect life.

As for gun laws, I absolutely believe in defending my family and myself by any means. It's funny reading all the replies to the NRA's speech on the Huffington Post and CNN sites. These fools are crying ban guns and how silly an idea of putting armed guards in schools is. I can tell you that these morons would be up shit creek if their house was getting broken into and right about then, right before the intruder is going to blow their head off, they'd be rethinking their whole anti gun stance. Either that are "hoping" the police get there in time.

Look folks, let's be real, carrying a gun doesn't mean that you will save the day. You could be in a restaurant when a guy comes in shooting. All kinds of things are happening. You may not have a clear shot at him, you may be too busy taking cover because he's shooting at you. But at the end of the day, if it were me and the guy walks up to me to execute me or my family, I'd sure as hell rather be packing and at least have a fighting chance.

Perhaps if we just allow prayer, discipline, and Bible back in schools, we could go back to the discipline, higher academics, and situation like we had in the 50s.

I do not want the public school to resemble a prison with cameras everywhere, locking doors, metal detectors.....

I do find it stupid to put up signs, declaring the school a "gun free zone".

Each individual state and county should get to figure out the solution based on their budget and needs.

Inner city schools in Chicago may have a different need than a rural public school in Nebraska.

If the school sees the need for a non uniform wearing police officer, than fine. If they prefer to train a few teachers or faculty members to carry concealed, then fine. If they want the principal, vice principal, or another faculty to keep a fire arm then fine.

Either way, the federal government is not the fix. When the federal government put their greasy mitts in the schools is when the problems started. Get Hillary and the village of idiots our of the schools completely and let parents and local gov run the schools, and fix the problems. It worked before, it can work again.

That is the exact reason my daughter goes to a christian school. There is no price to high for my daughter's education and upbringing.
When teachers truely enjoy what they are doing and love the kids they teach, the outcome will be be treamendous. We also need to realize that the teachers who teach our kids can have an extreme amount of influence in their impressionable young lives.
As far as saftey goes I agree that we need armed guards whether it be plain clothes or uniformed, but we also need to look at the design of the schools. When the school has too many points of entry it would be damned near impossible for an armed guard to protect that school. The school that my daughter attends has only 1 point of entry during school hours and that entry is the main office where it is monitored all day. There is other entry/ exit points that are locked during school hours but they are automatically unlocked for emergency situations such as fire and such.

I know it would be impossible to redesign every school but layout of our schools can play a tremendous part of protection as well.
