Not really but almost...

I was running the sulphur river this weekend going to my favorite crappie hole. Everything as going smooth and the beer couldnt have tasted better. what a wonderful day to be cruising the river and fishing. All of the sudden something went boom and it felt like I was shot in the knee with a 50 cal round. I fell to the floor of my boat tears swelling up in my eyes. "Thats it" I thought...I am being attacked by the vietnamese fisherman, and they are wanting my ever so precious crappie hole! ONce I regained my sences I realized that there were no vietnamese, but a prehistoric, petrafied, camoflauged stump that had slipped by my senses. As all of you godevil owners know, that when the sd hits a stump, the handle becomes a dangerous weapon designed to take down the biggest of guys. It had come down and hit the side of my knee. Adrenaline rushed through my body, and If I would had a paddle in the boat I would have picked the motor up off of the boat and tossed it into the river. It hurt like hell, but after a few more shiners, I was back to fishin', tearin the crappie up.

Prodrive....here I come.

Only took me about 28 times to learn my lesson and keep any precious object (legs, arms, feet, sac etc) away from tiller handle ie. soon to be deadly weapon

same thing will happen wif a pd handle when u hit one of them 'hidden' stumps at wfo!!!!! the differance is that it's so easy to drive like a outboard u don't have to keep ur legs under it to have enough stregnth to drive it.

By the end of duck season my left leg right at the knee looks like a midget has been hacking on it. I have even hit stuff so hard that it tore my light weight waders and Bruce Lee'd my knee all at the same time. And the sad thing is I get clipped everytime I go hunting. The pain really begins when you get hit two or three times in one day.

yeah...I have no front pocket on my waders anymore...the damn handle was close to it and hit a stump and off goes one side of the pocket.

yeah... that would work fine till you ran across some vegitation and had to pull up on the tiller to make the motor not ride up on top.

Sunday, mine shot off to the side and smashed against my hip with my fingers still around the grip. Double ouch.

mine hit so hard one time the handle hit the floor and smashed my toes. It was summertime and boy it hurt. one of my toenails got ripped and partially fell off.

I was running one the last few days of the season and that thing knocked the fork out of me a few times,even my dog fell victim to the flying handle a couple of times.She would look at me like what the hell was that for and what did I do to deserve it.It always happens when you least expect it.

Just think how scary that handle would be with a blade on it.

Floating handles are no guarantee that you won't get hurt. I had a "hit" from my MB floating tiller handle season before last. It felt like Bruce Lee kicked me square in the side of the knee. Took weeks for it to feel better.

I was lucky last year with the PD handle. It flew around a few times but the knee and toes stayed out of the way.

We need to get someone to design a mudmotor purple heart for this type of battle injury.
