I have a 16 gdlt and a 14x42 weld craft. By myself (220) and fuel I run 17mph. Son (80), step dad (290), myself, loaded with decoys and guns we ran 13 deep and 14 shallow. With just me and son loaded to hunt we run 15.

I have a 16 GDLT on a Tracker 15. Runs around 14 with gear and 2 hunters. 3 guys slows it down to 10 or 11 and it has more trouble in the mud.

Re: 16 hp longtail on 15/42
I will mainly be going thru very thick hydrilla, Lilly pads, stumps and buck brush. Not all the above at the same time, but a mixture. The water is usually at least 18" deep sometimes 6". Will it get me where I'm trying to go, with a max of three hunters (all under 180 lbs) gear and one 60lb dog?? I don't mind if it goes 15 in open water with alight load, as long as it will get us to the hole!! The vast majority of the time it will only be two of us and he is only 135 lbs

It will get you there without a problem. Just really slow with 3 hunters. If you are only running for a few miles it won't be that bad. I try not to take 3 guys too often. It's a little cramped but doable.

Thanks for the response!! About a mile run thru a creek passable with outboard, then usually less than half a mile thru the muck. Three of us would be a rare occasion. Even if I only go 2-3 mph thru the muck, as long as I can get there.

Re: 16 hp longtail on 15/42
ok everything I read and hear says the same about speeds. I'm ok with 2 people and running in the teens. I'M NOT!!! Got an 8x4 back h2o prop, 16 hp duramax, 15/42 alumaweld, cav. plate is running about 3-4 inches deep ( if I bend it more, it pops out), rpm's are at 3300 WOT, and I am getting an amazing 7 mph. It goes through stuff ok, but it takes forever to get anywhere. I would love some advice, I've read til the letters blur and haven't found an answer yet.
