 16 horse go devil
I just bought my first mud motor and was wondering if there was a certian transom hiegth or what cas when I run it wide open I have to push the prop in the water pretty hard just curious if there was a quick fix or if I just need to get use to it

The 16hp longtail is designed for a 15-16 inch transom. When the transom is too high, like 20-21 inches, the cavitation plate is angled up and pops the prop out. If you have the lower transom and this is happening, bend the rear of the cavitation plate slightly to keep it about 2 inches under the water. If the transom is high you can either cut it down or bolt a tab to the rear of the plate and bend it. Performance will suffer with the higher transom and larger tab. Go to the GoDevil website and download the manual. That will explain a lot.
