I am not interested in this thread turning into a rant over individual situatations. From time to time I have read on MMT threads that this product or that shop provides a LIFETIME WARRANTY. I just can't imagine what this actually means. It seems to be one of the first questions that is brought up when a product or service is discussed. While this is obviously a point of interest when considering a product or service it should not be used as a tool for questioning or challenging the value of other products or services. It seems to be used as a selling tool that has absolutely no written proof of existence. The use of the term LIFETIME WARRANTY assumes a very broad sense of security, miscommunication, and confusion. Maybe the only one confused is me. Remember that the word ASSUMES invites that you can make an ASS of U & ME. Not trying to be an ASS, but,,,,,

Where is it that the quality of a product or a service has very little to do with the purchase. A man or a woman that produces a quality product or service at a fair price should not be held into perpetuity for the history of use of that product. Yes workmanship should have a value and a reasonable warranty/guarantee I am not arguing that fact. My point is what exactly are your expectations for a LIFETIME WARRANTY? In my experience on this site I have found a vast source of knowlege and help. There is also a degree of fun, entertainment, and friendship. My concern is that we support this industry because we are the only ones in it. No one can stay in business if they are constantly have to replace products or services. Just my opinion.

i dont understand..if a maufacter is that confident in their workmanship and quality of their product that they want to offer a life time warrenty...y not let them?

I don't know if I can help at all, but I can give you a business opinion.

Someone that has been in business for a while who offers a lifetime warranty usually doesn't offer one unless they mean it. Lifetime warranty to me can only mean a couple of things. It means for the lifespan of the product while I am alive, if it breaks it will either be repaired or replaced.

Unless I am reading the question wrong, you are expressing a concern about the business being able to honor the warranty and still stay in business. Usually a company that offers a WARRANTY OF THAT CALIBER will usually either reflect it in the price for a premium, or they are just that darn confident.

I used to be a hardcore bowhunter. A company called Magnus Broadheads is the only company I know that offered (s) a lifetime warranty so I bought those products. He wanted to set himself apart by being the only company that offered that type of wwarranty. At times I sent stuff back as part of the warranty and they honored it. I didn't abuse the privelege in my opinion.

Thanks loads for your input. I too am a business owner and find that reading emails about products and services can become somewhat confusing causing confusion. I have read that some of the mudmotor products from time to time have LIFETIME WARRANTIES, but I have NOT seen this when searching companies web information or in writing . It seems strange to me there is information being presented by individual posters about certain product warranties that is not coming from the product representatives. Just wondering

Warrantee insurance .... is how the big boys do it. But I am catching what you are throwing. Some smaller buissiness/shops are only an argument or serious illness away from being obsolete. Then where do you claim your lifetime warrantee?

Thats purdy much how a certain big truck engine manufactor operates. I will not put the purchace on his engine again fo that reason.

Now ~ In regards to yore post ..... I reckon's you be typn' 'bout these MudMotorMachineThangs ...... I personally wouldn't hold hold one of these manufactors .. or aftermarket fellers to very much warrentee 'cause I be runnin' mines stuff too dang hard and I abuse mines stuff too bad. Now ~ ifin' I put the purchase on one of these items and have some trouble and thays want to help me out ..... I thank them and laff 'bout it and head on down the bayou !!!!

I think an advertised lifetime warranty should be just that. Don't know but of one company offering it here. But they should clarify that shipping charges would be consumer responsibility because it has been brought up a few times. Evedently it adds up.

Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.
