Post Gas tank size
Getting a new boat shortly and wondering how long the 35 vanguard will run on a 6 gallon tank. I know the majority of the time like when hunting it will be plenty of gas but wondering about the days in the summer when i go for a several hour ride. Just wondering if it would be smart for me to get a 7.5 or 9 gallon tank insted of the 6.??? Thanks

All I have is a 6 gal with a stage 1. I do just fine me but you can never have too much gas. Go with the 9.

Get a nine just for yhe hell of it. You don't have to always fill it up if your cutting weight.

I have a 28 gallon and two 12 gallon tanks. If I need more I throw in some 5 gallon cans. For planning purposes with my 24 X 48 boat with a cabin I use 7 mpg. That has always brought me to where I can refuel. That beats the heck out of that silence you hear if you run out and you're 50 miles from the nearest village.

I'm going with a 9 gallon on my build. I don't have to fill it up but it's there if I need it or just want a little extra insurance.

Whatever size you choose, might be a good idea to carry an extra 3 gallon tank with a cheap "transfer pump".
{Like this hillbilly credit card ---> http://www.harborfreight.com/fluid-siph ... 93290.html }

Gasoline weighs about 6 lbs per gallon , and that little 3 gallon tank (18lbs full) works real good if you have to pass some gas over from a Good- Samaritins boat ... or trot thru the woods to "borrow" some fuel ;)

I have a 23GTR Stage 2 with a 12 gal tank. I fill it up and run for close to 8 hrs on just one tank. As long as I'm not grinding in the slop. just average hunting running.

I keep 2 six gallon tanks with quick connects under the front deck when you run one dry swapem out and take the empty one for a refill.

I run a 6 gallon tank on my stock 35. I have no problem running a couple hours. When ever Im riding new places or scouting I always bring another 5 gallon tank in the boat.

Man yall must not do much running or stay close to the launch.

I have a 15 gallon built in up front and a 12 gallon in the back.

Usually burn that in one weekend at the camp.

34 mile round trip from launch to camp and back. Frogging for 2 nights can put up to 40 miles on a night. And fishing one day in between.

Usually burn most of that up.

Hunting season about the same Mileage in a weekend.

Man, I am glad I have shorter runs and don't have to carry all that gas! The 6 gallon tank sits at the back because I have the battery up front for weight reasons and no room for an extra tank...I burn 2.3 gallons each trip, maybe 12 miles total with my 27 LT. On the longer trips to the big lake I add a small 2.5 gallon jug for insurance- I can easily pour that into the main 6 tank.
