 what yall think?
is the advantage of having duals on a large rig, vs. doing a lot of mods on a single? (1848) lets here it

 Re: what yall think?
i would think that 2 stock motors will do better just for the fact that alot of these modded motors have trouble eventually

 Re: what yall think?
most with mods are doing it for load carrying ability, and nothing is going to out do duals when it comes to load carring ability.

 Re: what yall think?
I have a 20' x 54" with dual 36hp and I get about 31 in deep water but the load carring ability is great I can put 6 people and still do about 27-28mph

I say tell one of your other 6 buddies to go buy a boat and help share the cost a little bit.

 Re: what yall think?
if you are looking at PD's, then 2 stock motors would be the best way. I don't know of anyone with a modded PD that has not had to change a case gasket! Theres nothing like having to tear a motor down after 4 or 5 hours and a couple thousand dollars later!!! If you are not too concerned about the weight of the rig than 20 or 18ft by 54 or 60 wide could be the way to go. My 18/54 with 36's did everything I needed it to do and hauled 12 guys at 24mph and ran 33mph unloaded!!
A single modded motor is going to be easier to move around if you had to push obviously, but maintaining one can be a PITA!

 Re: what yall think?
Yea, but my little gang is slowly starting to get their own stuff together.
BTW was driving around town today and saw a sign that said "danger no swimming, Crocodiles" perhaps there is a marsh nearby...

 Re: what yall think?
Well, I have been thinking for a while about starting over with an entire new rig vrs. dumping a lot of cash into my current one. Depending on how long I stay over here, and if I meet my other financial "goals" a dually might be a lot more reasonable. Might need to call some of yall along the hwy 90 corridor for a test drive first.

 Re: what yall think?
only down fall to a dual rigs, in La is restrictions on wma areas. and the other is they cant go everwhere a single light weight boat can. for load hands down the best idea.

 Re: what yall think?
I have a little over 100hrs on my Stage 1. I treat it like i stole it, and the only thing that needed to be done so far is: Adjust the Valves. I do need to change my Gasket.. With this said, i would go for the Stage 1 on the PD. There is a New Prop coming out that will reduce the modded RPM's from 4300 to around 4000 or so. I used one of the props, and with a Fully Loaded boat in deep water, I was doing over 27mph. HOPE THIS HELPS !!!
Get with CoonDik for the mods...He can supply everything.
