 exhaust options.....?
I am planning on picking up a back water 23hp this spring and am wondering if anybody knows what my exhaust options are? I would like to get it as quiet as I can. Just wondering where to look and what it will cost...

 Re: exhaust options.....?
Think of it as a 23hp briggs and Stratton. Not as a mud motor.
The 23 b&S has a ridiculous amount of add ons available. Check out online and search the forum and you'll be happy with what you find.

 Re: exhaust options.....?
So what are my muffler options? Your reply really doesnt help at all. I have looked a little bit and haven't come up with the answers I am looking for. That's the reason for the post. I figure someone on here with some knowledge about muffler options would chime in with helpful info and not just say do a search...

 Re: exhaust options.....?
The crossover was the only thing I found as well. Just wanted to double check with the motorheads on here and see if I missed something somewhere. Thanks mudcutter.

 Re: exhaust options.....?
The BPS Crossover is loud as hell. There really isn't a quiet exhaust available for these motors. You could run exhaust hose down the shaft to put the noise closer to the water.

 Re: exhaust options.....?
It was a similar question a few weeks ago and some guy recomended a Walker # 24440, is a resonator 15"x2" ,you can get it at Auto Zone for under $ 20.00, but there is some welding involved. I don't know how quiet it is.

 Re: exhaust options.....?
If you want to build your own exhaust, I still have a couple of sets of SS exhaust flanges for a 23.

 Re: exhaust options.....?
Interesting. I will have to stop in and talk to the dudes at the store and ask about that part. I know a few welders so maybe that is a viable option to look at. I haven't called the guys at back water yet either only emailed. I'm sure they will have some advise too.

 Re: exhaust options.....?
Get a welder to build you one out of sch. 10 stainless pipe like I did on my 23 longtail.
