I'm transforming a Sea Nymph bass boat 16x48, into a duck hunting boat, it will have a 25 HP Kohler GoDevil LT, I'm hoping to get 16 mph. I'll let you know when I finish it.

With a lite load ya should be ok dont think ya will go much more than 15 if that. That boat could use a bigger motor for sure. Let us know how it turns out.

Slow but doable. Much better off with a 23 to 27 longtail. My two friends have identical 1648 rivetted Lowe jons with 25 LT's and they get 19.5 mph one man; 17 with two hunters and gear. An easy hop up is to tweak the throttle advance to around 4100 rpm out of the water no load.

I have a welded 1548 Grizley, with a 27 hp Backwater. Just me and I get about 17-18. 2 people and it goes between 13-16, depending on load. Load placement is huge. Not fast but very dependable and goes about anywhere.
