Back on topic, any new news on gearbox?

No instant reverse. The new gearbox will be for a different gear ratio and will accommodate a new prop. It will be an entirely new LU so will not be able to upgrade your current one.

Damn sure hope they keep the older ones available

I have run both the new EFI, and the new Gearbox and the new Gearbox on a new EFI motor. They are impressive.

We have one here to start Demoing this weekend and it will be here until early June. We also have the new Gearbox on a stock carb motor for folks to demo to see the performance for the updated complete stock PD motor that will be out in June. There are alot of other nice upgrades and improvements to the Pro-Drive that will go with the gearbox in June, some are already out like the new trim and reverse switching system. In June the stock Pro-Drive will start coming with a new clutch, a new single pump hydro system that will run both the trim and the reverse (and speed the reverse up, cutting the time from forward to reverse in half over current models) plus the new gearbox and new prop shaft/prop design.

There has been alot of speculation on the EFI and the new gear box. In short the EFI should replace alot of the mods that are the current standard. The new gear box takes full advantage of the stock 4750 high rev Briggs engine that is already out, producing great power and torque at the prop. The two combined are pushing much faster then current stock and moving a much larger load. IMHO you will see similar performance to Mikini type modded motors with just these two new additions without compromising engine life or warranty.

I will reserve any formal reviews until be have completely load tested each combo on our boats.

If you want to see one for yourself, come out to one of our demo events between now and June 1st or stop by the shop.

great I just bought one and with 4 hours on it its a lemon. Now you tellin me the new ones are better!

Pd with instant reverse as well as the fpr is a reality

i want to drive one of these mew PD witht the EFI an the new LU. Might have to put the 2009 up for sale if it is that much better design

Take the stuff off a GTR, lift the motor and fab it in there Best of both worlds.

I have it too it is just a easier to deal with if you can just grab a handle an put it in reverse. if it's not crowded you can do it with the FPR but can get to be a pain in the ass if there are a lot of people waiting to pick up boats. Don't get me wrong i wouldn't trade my FPR for nothing

Motor sounds like its gonna b heading toward the 400 lbs. mark with all these adjustments.
Can't imagine why they would not make the new LU interchangeable.

Sounds to me like its about to become the fastest stock mudmotor.
