 35 on a 1648 Wonder if anyone has has a 35GDSD on a 1648 GD boat. I'm getting about 25 with my 27 kohler, but it drops alot with a load. Thinking of upgrading to a 35. Would it be too much? Opinions?

Re: 35 on a 1648 Plenty of folks running 35/36 on 16' boats. More power would help some but an 18' would be a better load carrier.

Re: 35 on a 1648 got a buddy with a 1648 PD boat and a 36 PD. No porpousing. Its a runner though.

Re: 35 on a 1648 really wish GD would put one of them new 40 kohlers on a frame. I'm just kinda partial to kohler.

Re: 35 on a 1648 i've had my 27 for a year. Got 90 hours one her, but they were some hard ones. Still a great 2 man rig. Buddies have the bigger motors and gettin tired of getting left. Might just wait on my waranty to run out and make the 27 scream

Re: 35 on a 1648 i'm gonna use mine this season and save to get me a 35 for the summer time. Might sell my old 40 merc too. Really like my GD rig, just wanna go a lil faster for the long runs
